Identify the intended receipt allocation
A bank receipt for 10,000 can match two open invoices for 10,000. The useful question is which invoice the payer meant to settle. A reference, customer relationship, remittance allocation or disputed balance can decide that. A suggested match needs to carry this evidence to the person who can authorize the allocation.
Start the SAP integration with a bounded read of accounting items. Retain company code, fiscal year, document and line item alongside account, amount and currency. SAP's operational item service is an API discovery candidate for this purpose. Confirm fields and filters in the target metadata and use a separately qualified extraction design for large historical populations. The matching model should see the permitted case context, including the remittance source and its timestamp.
Keep selection, approval and clearing separate
Keep candidate selection, approval and clearing as separate steps. An exact identifier can support an automated proposal under agreed rules. Equal-amount alternatives, a payer with several accounts or an inconsistent remittance need an exception. The approval should name the selected items and amounts, residual treatment and posting context. If the open balance changes while approval waits, refresh the case before acting.
SAP documents an asynchronous journal-entry clearing service. An accepted request therefore needs processing monitoring followed by an authoritative check of cleared items, clearing document and residual or partial-payment outcome. Record the source receipt and approved population against the request reference. The cleared balance must agree with the intended allocation. A bank instruction or payment release is a separate process and has its own authority.
Bound BTP and Joule access
A proposed BTP design uses a restricted read adapter, a deterministic allocation validator and an action service behind the process. Cloud Integration handles the supported protocol and correlation. A Build Process Automation task presents the candidate allocation when independent review is required. The action service retains dispatch intent, the eventual result and any unresolved outcome. A repeated event should find the existing action identity before it can generate a second clearing request. The SAP backend enforces the permitted accounting authority.
A candidate Joule skill can retrieve a receipt's case and explain why it remains unapplied. A write-capable extension should call the same approved action as the finance workspace. Its inputs must identify an accepted allocation. The skill should return the clearing reference or a visible exception, with the evidence that supports either result. Confirm the Joule capability, edition and entitlement in the chosen landscape.
Test ambiguity and verify clearing
The acceptance set includes two invoices of the same amount, a one-to-many allocation, a partial receipt, a stale approval, an unauthorized company and a timeout after acceptance. Compare precision on accepted allocations, human handling effort, reversal incidence and unresolved receipt age. The local finance workbenches and typed adapters support this integration design. The reviewed evidence leaves the actual SAP clearing path and Joule execution for tenant qualification. AssetSolve Working Capital Finance Suite
